ABOUT

Hudson Valley–based singer-songwriter Jared Saltiel combines incisive wit, expressive melodicism, and classic songwriting craft with imaginative storytelling. Often working behind the scenes as a producer, arranger, and multi-instrumentalist, his solo work allows his sophisticated orchestrations and cinematic instincts to step forward fully realized, drawing comparisons to Rufus Wainwright, Sufjan Stevens, and Jon Brion.

Raised in Michigan, Saltiel moved to Brooklyn shortly after releasing his debut album with Ann Arbor’s The Dirty Birds. He began his solo career with two high-concept, intricately orchestrated albums (The Light Within, Out of Clay) that fused folk, rock, jazz, and classical influences into “magical realist” narratives rich with esoteric allusions. Since 2018, he has pivoted toward a more intimate series of EPs (One More Revelation, No Heroes, Dream Song), drawing on indie folk, Americana, and piano-driven pop to explore themes of grief, self-expression, and spirituality. A fourth EP is currently in development.

For his original music, Saltiel has collaborated with members of Anonhi and the Johnsons, Lake Street Dive, Nerve, and Eighty Ninety. As a producer and arranger, he has worked with KAYE (Charlene Kaye), Bell the Band, Sea Glass, and others. His recordings have earned praise from Atwood Magazine, Impose, and Songwriting Magazine, while his theatrical work has been featured in Time Out and The New York Times. He has performed across New York, North America, and Europe.
